I know, I just remember that after Carrie returned, she handled pretty much all of the broadcasts for Dateline, until she went off air for most of 2018. /shrug
@AlexS Possibly, though from what I have seen, Shaun has tended to be "primary" presenter (he is the only one who gives a lengthy introduction which includes the description of the programme), with Carrie/Jane being relief (usually because Shaun is NC presenter when they record Dateline London live).
Re George: Glad to see he will be returning, hopefully it is a permanent return
Each post is making less and less sense. Shaun has regularly presented the news channel shift during which dateline is filmed and dateline itself on the same day including on some of the busiest news weeks of the past few months so to suggest the others cover him because he is on the news channel is demonstrably nonsense.
It's absolutely pointless to try and work out any kind of rota now as there are very few slots that have a main presenter rather than a pool of regular presenters as this gives much more flexibility.

I have no idea what you’re actually trying to say, yes Shaun regularly presented in the saturday morning shift like you said, but when Carrie returned (both in 2018 and this year), most of the morning Saturday shift has been Carrie. Ill not reply further because further posts will probably be seen as off-topic
@sophieraworth there goes my hopes of slipping back into the studio unnoticed! Thanks to all for good wishes. We’ve got the cancer in a holding pattern so it’s back to work with colleagues I respect and the viewers who make it worthwhile. #BBCNewsSix

I was at BBC Broadcasting House a few weeks ago and saw him walk by and thought how well he looked. Glad he's back.
It’s about time BBC News move into the 21st century and have a newsreader with a beard.
