Joanna Gosling is back today, doing the VD news summaries and presumably NL, haven’t seen her since September at least I think?

No, Rachel Schofield is on NL.

I thought a presenter for the 8pm summary was a waste but to have someone literally read the headlines in a supposedly news programme and nothing else is an even bigger misuse of tax payer money.

🙄 Did it ever cross your mind that she may be on a phased return, not that it would be any of our business...

Just noticed Carrie Gracie presenting BBC News this afternoon. I thought she quit as the BBC’s China editor following the row over differences in pay with men and women? Is she working freelance now?
Nice to see her back. She’s always been a favourite of mine.

Quit that role but still employed by the BBC.

I hope Carrie Gracie will join the Afternoon Live team someday and co-anchor with Simon Mccoy... Rolling Eyes

An interesting photography project called One Minute To Go captures BBC newsreaders before they are about to go on air.

Is there a reason that the last headline is written in grey text on BBC World News?

Something to do with wearing black to show solidarity with the abused women who've come forward?

I'm unsure on why the text is grey but I do know that it happens in most bulletins

It’s supposed to be that the headlines are in red and a coming up (softer) story is in grey. There are times though when they want to put more hard stories in the sequence and they forget to change the style. In the production system it’s pretty hard to spot the difference.

I seem to remember during the US Elections in 2016, however that political story's headlines were put in grey- perhaps to have a neutral colour?

Joanna Gosling is presenting BBC Newsroom Live today, so it's probably back to the normal schedule (alternating with Annita) from now.
