ur humour is well-suited to local radio.

Nice, is that really the best you could do? Just citing Harriet Harman! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/7193016/Harriet-Harman-backing-move-to-ban-the-term-chairman-for-being-sexist.html

Because of course, dragging out 7 year old news articles in an attempt to make your odd views on equality more funny is loads better Smile

Odd views on equality? Not odd at all wanting men and women to be treated equally and speaking out when either falls victim. I made a little dig about the post saying chairwoman and unfortunately it's resulted in unwarranted personal quips.

Oh and for the record, my main day job involves working for a mental health charity. Don't worry though - i'm ready and waiting for the jibes about that next.

Anyhow, let's get the thread back on track...

Wonder if a male presenter would be allowed to wear a slogan jumper on air...

Gavin Estler's presenting this week's Talking Books. I thought he'd left the BBC?

If he's gone freelance, there's nothing to stop him coming back for individual gigs.

Speaking as someone who is forever having people incorrectly put an extra consonant in my real-life surname (which is not my TVF username, obv!), I'm sure that Mr Esler - whose correct name can be easily confirmed by a quick Google - would really appreciate that intruding "t"...
Charlesy, bkman1990 and London Lite gave kudos

If I feel uncertain of the correct name form/spelling (etc) of a public figure whom I'm about to make reference to online, then yes.

Just seen ex-BBC political correspondent Alan Soady pop up on Sky News as a guest astoned as from 'Federation of Small Businesses'. Didn't realise he'd left the Beeb.

Just seen about Jane Hill on the presentation thread and was about to reply but realised THIS was the place to comment...

What has happened to her? Being in work I mostly miss seeing her, but I thought she did co-present with Simon McCoy in the afternoons. So now he's got his own show on his todd, where is she now?

Certainly the BBC's best newsreader in my opinion - a News 24 stalwart, and now what?
