Reeta Chakrabarti is doing a News Channel shift right after doing the One.

Yes, I was posting this around the same time but just editing it now - they've now got Reeta back. I would be failing to resist the temptation to make a correction if I said Reeta wasn't on the News Channel "right after" the News at One, instead it was about thirty minutes later, however that's quibbling over a tiny matter and I won't mention this.

[Continues with original version of post.] So, Annita left for 30 minutes for Reeta to come in to do the One O'Clock News for half an hour only for Annita to come back for half an hour until Reeta came back. Perhaps there is preparation to be done for the 2pm shift though or some other thing that I won't post as I am not sure about whether it might breach the third bullet point of the rules for this forum.

I'd thought Iv'e read somewhere that the main bulletins (1,6 and 10) have debriefs as soon as they go off air.

Martine Croxall in breaking news mode doing a broadcast for BBC One, BBC World News and BBC News. Very hard to talk to reporters tonight due to the ongoing police incidents by the Thames.

Martine is one of the only BBC presenters who is excellent at both rolling with developing stories and dealing with lighter elements without coming across as too serious.

Karin Giannone is another one.

This story sadly seems very reminiscent of November 2015, again with Martine Croxall.

I'm assuming that UK journalists are staying on for a long night shift with this developing story. I wonder if World journalists will be helping out as well.

Is this the earliest that BBC One have joined the News Channel for the overnight simulcast? I'm watching on the News Channel and she first mentioned the simulcast channels at approx 23:35.

Talking to correspondents is being consistently interrupted by the police moving the cordons back.

Tim Willcox out at King's College Hospital as a correspondent today - presumably he's been diverted from a reporting shift on World?

Tim Willcox now presenting the BBC News at Six on the News Channel, due to the Channel going live to Theresa May. I presume they have to remain balanced, therefore Tim has just been introducing the election reports for UKIP, Plaid Cymru and the SNP that they had missed due to leaving BBC One. Now presenting some breaking news, then going to video of Jeremy Vine.

EDIT: I'm now wondering whether the move away from BBC One was planned, to some extent. Tim has just gone to Sportsday ahead of 6.35. There is an extended news on BBC One but this allows them to rejoin with the usual News Channel schedule from more or less the usual time after Sportsday rather than running Sportsday 6.40-6.50 had they stuck with BBC One. Theresa May's appearance was, to some extent, known about in advance so it's enabled the News Channel to get better timings for the start of the evening of news. Or maybe the BBC don't run nearly as rationally, logically and pre-considered as that lol.

EDIT: Hardly, as Sportday as it was ended past 6.50.
