The labour manifesto launch was attended by a senior news channel presenter but the conservative launch only received a correspondent (who occasionally presents). Considering the BBC is meant to be unbiased this seems a lapse in editorial judgement.
On Sky they were talking about how the location for the Tory manifesto launch was only revealed at the last minute, with Adam Boulton saying there was a scramble to book hotels. So I imagine they weren't able to get everyone there in time.
And Simon King doing the weather forecasts too, haven't seen him around for a while.
He is normally based at MediaCity.
I think he is employed by the BBC for 5 Live and 6 Music so assumed we'd never seem him present a TV forecast again. I think he appears on Newsround occasionally as that is in Salford.

Was he doing the weather from NBH?
Yep, he appeared in studio B for VD, and then did a few forecasts from a greenscreen weather studio

Tim Willcox is back in London and is on 100 Days+
Also fortunate that today is one of those days that Katty is in New York rather than Washington
Scotland only bully due at 11pm tonight as timings are out following the Scottish Leaders' Debate. Exciting.
Who will do it? Will it be Martine? Or will Clive stay and still be there and will Huw still be in Edinburgh to co-present? And what about Steph McGovern, who was due on the 10pm version in England/Wales/N.I.? So many unanswered questions lol.
Rare moment where the News channel presenter (Martine Croxall) crossed over to Huw Edwards who's reporting from the Scottish Leaders Debate, and one would assume where he'll be presenting tonight's Ten from.
Hypothetical question, if it had been Sophie Raworth, Fiona Bruce or George Alagiah presenting tonight's Ten, would they have done a hit on the News channel as well? I only ask as Huw makes regular appearances and is what they would call a network presenter on the News channel but I don't recall the others ever doing the same.
The last time this happened on the bank holiday Monday it was a direct copy of news channel feed. Lukwes first time on BBC one
It'll be either Martine or Clive, or wholly on location with Huw as Steph's piece for the ten is almost certainly pre-recorded mid week.
It was also not Lukwesa's first BBC1 appearance as she did the lunchtime news at least once in her first few shifts on the channel.
