And like last time did a couple of hours as Lukwesa has just started at 5:00, which makes you wonder if the same thing has happened as what happened just after Christmas (i.e illness).

I'm guessing it was illness and so they asked Richard to rush in, and told Shawn Ley to be on for an extra hour and for Lukwesa to start an hour or two earlier. Unless Lukwesa was supposed to be in this slot but for some reason couldn't be there in time because surely they can't have her on till 0000?

I actually wouldn't be surpised if it's the former (and she's on til midnight).

ETA:Or maybe not As Ben Brown is now on at the normal late shift time.

Huw Edwards is presenting the BBC's News at Ten from Paris tonight with Mishal Hussain in the studio.

Interesting as the BBC aware said to be reducing the number of presenters doing live OBs, in fact it's quite interesting which they haven't done recently and which they have. In this case they haven't just sent Huw to France, they've got him in on a Sunday.

I expect he will have gone on the Eurostar, but that's not the point, there have been various news stories within this country where you'd expect an OB (comparable occasions when ITV did) and they haven't had one.

And its not just Huw that has gone. Christian Fraser, Nuala McGovern and Karin Giononne are all in Paris.

The problem is they get endlessly criticised and slagged off when they send people to present on location, so now they almost never do, even when the story justifies it.

If they were paid by BBC Global News Ltd, those presenters wouldn't have been funded by the licence fee anyway.
