Myrie was good but as always with HIGNFY these days it was under-edited, over bloated and completely unsuited to the half hour slot it was given. Ullman was anonymous, Rev Coles was his usual annoying self, and Ian and Paul got the usual focus. Either it needs tightening, or more focus, or they just be done with the 30 minute format and stick it out at 45 minutes only - the HIGABMNFY repeats are the only ones I tend to watch if I can help it.

I prefer the extended repeats of panel shows but the scheduling of HIGABMNFY is terrible - not just the fact it's late night but the fact it is on a Monday and is actually closer to the recording of the next episode than it is to its actual recording which isn't best for a topical panel show. They could always give it a Saturday BBC Two showing like they used to. But that would really be a discussion for a HIGNFY thread.

Wonder how much Clive's "dick head" comment on the Papers contributed to him being asked to do HIGNFY?

This is unusual - Huw Edwards on the News at Ten on a Friday and Sunday. I know he's appeared before but that was when there was major breaking news and was on site to anchor, this is from the studio.

Think it will be because he's done an exclusive interview with Obama

I think it must be to do with Barack Obama's visit as Huw's interview with him has been running all day today on the News Channel.

I would assume Huw's appearance tonight is due to his exclusive interview with Obama. Makes sense for him to present the bulletin that's so heavily dominated around the President's comments on the EU.

Did he present at teatime as well?

I was thrown by his appearance and thought I'd lost 24 hours somewhere.

I hope Karthi is on the sport as he wont have had to attempt her name before.

Clive Myrie did the early evening bulletin.

Huw Edwards wasn't on air at all during his normal slot either so maybe it was planned because of the Obama visit. It's nice to see others at the weekend though. Something that could be repeated more often. It would be interesting to see the ratings.

Sunday's BBC News at Ten got 4.30m (26% share) viewers, which is roughly level with what it normally gets.

(For those who are interested, itv's 10pm bulletin got 2.1m.)
