Mariko Oi currently in New York for a bit. Saw her on Buisness Live and Sally Bundock making a comment about her temporary relocation from Singapore to New York.

Michelle Fleury has been the only biz presenter in New York with both Samira Hussain and Nada Tawfik on maternity leave. The latter was cover for Samira.

I thought Mariko Oi was based in Tokyo.

She's Singapore based and has covered Newsday/Asia Business Report for Rico/Sharanjit.

I think she's often in Tokyo as well. But is primarily Simgapore based.

Haven't seen it yet, but when I first saw he was going to be on I was a little surprised. But then HIGNFY do generally have the odd BBC presenter/correspondent who you wouldn't necessarily think would be first choice for a programme like that but the usually always fit in on the show great. Political journalists are frequent appearers but Will Gompertz and Caroline Wyatt have also appeared once. In fact it's the 'unusual' guests who are quite often the best - I still think Moira Stuart was one of the best guest presenters. Andrew Neil is also appearing later in the series, but he has appeared on it before.

Who knows, if the cutbacks continue at BBC News - we'll probably end up with HIGNFY in the weekend second Papers slot as part of DQF. Wink

I hope the News Channel gets to return the favor and invite Paul and Ian to be guests on The Papers-Now that would be interesting. Wink
