After anchoring the overnight segment of BBC (World) News, Alice Baxter is now reporting from the UK High Street on the Nokia strategy, during the current edition of World Business Report, presented by Aaron Heslehurst.

She is indeed a busy lady and, with her increasingly animated arm movements combined thus with Aaron's, I momentarily thought I was actually in the middle of a wind farm.

I jest.

So Tim Willcox and Sophie Long appearing on screen together on the 2-5pm slot this afternoon, is it the first time they have been on screen together since their affair was splashed over the papers a few months back?

Having watched Alice Baxter for an extended time last night, her gesticulations were hardly distracting. Non-verbal communication, along with other paralinguistic features, can actually be useful in getting the point across.

It's the first time they've presented together in the studio but they have been on air before together when Sophie was in the studio and Tim was out in Cyprus. Glad their "ban" has been dropped, they have always been one of the best pairings.

Seriously, what's with Ros Atkins' tendency to be rude and do some side-comments...
He interviewed someone from the Palestinian government and he talks when the interviewee is not yet finished talking!

They weren't banned; just not scheduled to appear with each other. Have to say, they did an excellent job, and I hope to see more of them anchoring with each other soon!

Has Rita Chakrabarti moved back to political correspondence? She's reporting on Margaret Thatcher's funeral on the 10 tonight. She's been education for a couple of years now I think...
