I quite often see people slagging off Reeta Chakrabarti for her presenting skills, and I can never quite understand the vitriol she seems to inspire. I don't think she's a particularly good presenter - but she's okay. She's perfectly competent if unremarkable - but you'd think she was absolutely hopeless from some of the criticism she gets.

+1

She did brilliantly a while ago when there was a complete melt down at the start of the 1pm news

On the other hand, Clive Myrie seemed very at home on the Ten the other night

Clive Myrie: seemed even more at home calling a sportsman a "d*ckhead" during The Papers.......once upon a time.

Well, it was after the watershed.

Which makes a good headline, but if you watch the whole thing in context rather than the short edits various newspaper websites have posted, it seems that he simply used shorthand to paraphrase the views of people who have signed the petition.

Amazed that they have flagged that with the strong language content warning!

I noticed Michelle Fleury was covering the DC reporting post tonight.

Assuming the usual DC reporters are covering the Republican debate?

Well, she is s business reporter, so they send her there a few days ago to report on the upcoming announcement of the Fed.

Rajini Vaidyanathan (Washington correspondent) is presenting on BBC World News from 7pm GMT. Most probably on the 9pm WNT edition also.

She's working in London over the Christmas period before returning to Washington.

I hadn't realised Kate Silverton had returned but is on secondment to Radio 4, I haven't heard her on any news bulletins on the station. Does anyone have any insight into what she's doing on secondment?

Is George Alagiagh still doing GMT? I'm aware he's just come back and is only doing a couple of days a week. Is he taking it very slowly returning to both GMT and the BBC News at 6?

He still features on the BBC World countdown so presumably he intends to return at some stage.
