B I personally think, Daniela Ritorto is a good permeant presenter if Babita gets moved on elsewhere
I prefer Daniela's delivery and being Australian can relate more to Newsday's target audience in SE Asia. Her excitement when Australia would win a Rugby World Cup match was evident.
I agree. Daniela Ritorto is a thoroughly excellent and versatile news presenter. I imagine she will get a regular slot very soon on World, other than her current permanent overnight weekend and occasional Impact role.
Perhaps we'll see some wider changes at World in January/February.
Karin presented the first hour of WNT, but when the NC joined at 8pm it was being presented by Martine (on the NC late shift). Not sure why Karin didn't do the second hour. Normally the Friday presented does 3 hours of WNT from 7-9:30

Martine said on Twitter that she was presenting from three different studios over three hours. All due to illness, the clock change and half term holidays. It has meant presenting 7pm in E, 8pm in C and 9pm in A - which as Martine said on air requires a costume change.
Martine Croxall in THREE separate studios tonight in the space of three hours! Firstly, from Studio E at the heart of the newsroom, then BBC World's studios and now from I presume it's the old BBC News at Nine weekdays studio, studio A. She's also changed her dress, as she mentioned on air. I think green can't be used in the current studio because it conflicts with the background and gets changed into something else?
Btw, can someone change the News Fix site for last Saturday, October 24th, as it's incorrectness is beginning to annoy me. It has Carole Walker covering until 5.25pm. In fact Clive Myrie, who was doing the BBC One bulletin at 5.25pm, took over at 5pm and the schedule even had him doing a two-way interview with a data company from America regarding the TalkTalk data breach. It's unusual for the BBC One newsreader to present the news channel output on weekend late afternoon/evening. I assume this must have happened because of half-term holidays - Carole Walker had left by 5pm and Clive Myrie then covered until the late-shift presenter came on air at 7pm.

Yes it's been driving me crazy too!
Seriously?
Ps, it's "it has".
You may realise this if I reveal that I have Asperger's. So, yes, I do notice little things like this and, over time, it can become a little bit...well, noticeable. (I even have to have a radio-controlled clock as well as I can't stand clocks being out even by a few seconds... there is only one time, in any one time zone in which we happen to be!) I tend to notice things, especially when they are one of my specialist subjects.
Martine Croxall has now been back with the green dress (I am glad she mentioned this, at 22.33, as I can then mention it too ).
The original sentence, with "it's", was perfectly correct, so the correction doesn't seem correct to me! "It has" can be either "it has" or "it's": http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/it's - see the definition 1.1.

Is this another veiled comment about something you know about, that the rest of us don't, like your reference to a BBC World presenter that has left/is about to leave?
It really isn't fair to the rest of us to be making these comments before they become public knowledge.
I hope it's not Katty Kay. I know she's been off to take care of her kid and said she would be back later in the fall. That being said she is MSNBC's resident Brit and with their recent hard news rebrand she'd be perfect for hosting a show at 6PM featuring international news.
Certainly a good point. Katty hasn't been on the BBC for a while, but is frequently on MSNBC.
It's about weekly but doing a three hour hit from 6-9AM with little prep time other than being up on the news is a lot easier and quicker than spending a day preparing for interviews and writing the actual shows.
If anyone missed a post I made a while back she wrote she will be back later in the fall to look after her son.
In another news Babita will be in DC until December.
After seeing Babita on WNA, it made me realise how scripted Newsday has become. It was better before when they often had periods where they chatted to each other instead of effectively passing the baton to the other studio.
Now it's useful having the context about Martine Croxall about the green! I hadn't realised she had been playing musical studios! I wonder if they gave her a motorised the vehicle of some sort so she can speed between studios. Couldn't WNA use Gallery A and the NC continues to use Gallery C in cases like this? I know it's only a few times a year but it would certainly save costume changes!
About any changes at World News, I think it's overdue as many presenters have left and there has been a skeleton staff with relief presenters working on slots till permeant replacements are found. Admittedly, it's easier now that George Alagiah is slowly returning to work so it does ease the pressure on the presenters a little bit. Although, personally agree with people on here who believe that a teaser shouldn't be given until nearer the time.
