She'll be filling in next week. Laura Trevelyan has been presenting most days/week while Katty Kay is taking time off to be with her youngest (she did fill in today for Mika on MSNBC's Morning Joe this AM). I imagine it's a strain for Laura considering her family is based in NYC where her husband is president of ABC News. I got the impression based on previous tweets that she travels back nightly when she can. I still don't know why they can't have her present from their studios at WNET.
I wonder if Babita will do News Day from DC as well. The show airs at 6,7 and 8 at night here in the US.
Apparently she is presenting World News America (either she has or is going to). What a change I must say. Anyone had seen her present it yet?

On set with @BabitaBBC who will be in the chair from next week for a spell - excited to have her here! pic.twitter.com/rZ5ZHdotEo

with the lead story on the Six O'Clock News coming from a fairly far-flung part of Canada, tonight's Six O'Clock News had a two-way with CBC's Chris Brown.
I don't think it's unusual for the CBC to make use of the BBC's reports (and reporters), but the other way around is rare.

I haven't seen any BBC reports on CBC TV in years. And even back then, IIRC, occasionally they used to have BBC reporters sign-off with 'CBC News' instead of 'BBC News'. These days, if the CBC doesn't send anyone to a foreign location (most of the time), correspondents report from Canada or the very few remaining foreign bureaux that survived the years of decimation (DC, LA, NY, London or Jerusalem). They still use BBC video and exclusives and incorporate them into the CBC reports but most of the time don't credit them, just like how no one credits Reuters or the AP on-air. I know on the radio side they still utilize BBC content (and acknowledge the reporter is from the BBC) from time-to-time.

I think there might be a BBC stringer (Lee Carter I think) in Toronto - although he's more of a radio man I believe.
Well given that the BBC don't have any correspondents in Canada, they don't really have much option. Canadian news doesn't get much coverage on the BBC.
Of their two west coast correspondents, James Cook may still be in Mexico, and David Willis might be en route.

To conclude, they sent James Cook there. He arrived yesterday. However is still there now and is doing a report on South Today.

Babita Sharma linked up with Rico in Singapore from Washington to discuss the Syria talks story. It's nice to see she's flexible and makes a good correspondent too! Hopefully she can be used more in future in that role occasionally. I personally think, Daniela Ritorto is a good permeant presenter if Babita gets moved on elsewhere. Great to see the old team linked up again. Albeit for a few minutes.
