BBC Three is fully expected to be closed as a linear channel, unless some very big and recent development has passed me by. Tony Hall et al. are firmly in favour of the changes and no serious commentator I've found seems to think the BBC Trust is unlikely to approve the change ultimately. And if BBC Three does close as a linear channel, there would be no point/place for 60 Seconds in its current form unless it moved to BBC One or BBC Two - which would only make sense during any 'BBC Three-ish' timeslots, so wouldn't be value for money (or sensible). What happens to the 'team' is, you're right, not something anyone knows at this stage. Nor have discussed - it's the roles that were mentioned.
I think at this point it's clear the bulletin will use whoever happens to be available. I do find it curious, though, that Riz Lateef isn't being used given her familiarity on the bulletin already, and considering it's still been merged with the London opt (if tonight's with Sima was anything to go by). Still, this might be a good way at giving exposure and experience to reporters and presenters who don't usually get national airtime. It just seems odd to me they all have to be female.
There is no definitive answer about wheth the 60 Seconds team are disappearing yet or not. There is currently a consultation. It's all speculation.

Bar Sam Naz, all of the 60 Seconds presenters are seconded from Newsbeat. This has been the case since Claudia-Liza Armah left in 2013.
Sam Naz will probably end up presenting some 8 shifts on BBC One or reporting cover for the NC.

No it's not. He has presented quite a bit recently.
Matt Smith is now presenting Sportsday on BBC News. First time he's been seen at Salford.

It still has to be confirmed by the BBC Trust. A provisional decision has been made and gone out for consultation and then gets approved. I agree that management want it to go but we could get a repeat of 6 Music which was saved from the chop 5 years ago in the first round of cuts.
I thought personnel were mentioned (Sam to be precise) could move over if she was out of a job. On multiple occasions.
This is true but Riz Lateef does present BBC London's full bulletins and has other commitments to Watchdog and others and presents Friday's. What's to say she's happy with the arrangement and wants to stick with it? One possibility though could be to have the Newsday presenter presenting it and be on standby until their slot as the cover needs to be Mon-Thurs which they do anyway.
