The first time I'm seeing this. Sally Bundock doing the 5am hour, filling in for Martine Dennis. Plus Alice Baxter on business.

I think this is actually the first time... ever. I guess they just done reversal of roles, since Alice presented & Sally did business last week.

Is BBC in Sandbox mode?

Sally Bundock has presented before - I think it was last summer .

Sally Bundock has occasionally presented the 5am news segment of TWT for the last 10 years, particularly on a Friday. So, she's not really new to it at all. Moreso in the last 5 years, actually.

In other news: Kasia Madera will be doing World News Today also today and on Monday. She was excellent on it yesterday.

Peter Dobbie will overnight again this weekend.

Jonathan Charles will be on the 5am Programme on Monday, reviewing the papers with Komla Dumor and Sally Bundock.

Maxine Mawhinney will be on the BBC News Channel this afternoon.

Julian Worricker will be doing The Papers tonight.

And possibly Babita Sharma on Impact later today, if not Lyse or Yalda Hakim.

All courtesy of Twitter and some dear friends.

Yes. Really miss him on domestic news, he's my favourite newsreader. I have to watch Global online if I want to watch him.

Must be school holiday silly season... Julian Worricker and Maxine Mawhinney did the 11.00-2.00 shift, Julian is back later apparentally for The Papers and Maxine now on her own double shift alongside Matthew.... Where's Tim?

Actually, I've f*cked up most of that roster. For example:

The Papers tonight is Martine Croxall, I'm told.
Impact is with the very much present and not absent Lucy Hockings.
Babita Sharma did World News rather than Impact.
Tim is nowhere to be seen, mind you.
All other info is correct.

I'm stepping aside as the RosterDoctor and shall hand the baton to someone much younger and agile.

Indeed yes, and both Lucy and Babita have been presenting their respective programmes for a second day in a row.

I'm really sorry for you James. Time to search for a new RosterDoctor, as you described, younger and agile.

Here's today's BBC News Channel roster (some good couplings today, most of which I don't think we've seen before!):
6.00 Breakfast - Louise Minchin and Jon Kay
8.30 Chris Eakin and Carrie Gracie
11.00 Julian Worricker and Carrie Gracie
12.00 Julian Worricker and Maxine Mawhinney
1.00 Jon Sopel
1.30 Julian Worricker and Maxine Mawhinney
2.00 Matthew Amroliwala and Maxine Mawhinney
5.00 Gavin Esler
6.00 Fiona Bruce
6.30 Tim Willcox
10.00 Fiona Bruce
10.30 Tim Willcox.

Interestingly relief presenters used since the relaunch are as follows:
Sophie Long (seems to be the go to female relief presenter, regularly on Monday's in for Carrie Gracie and Friday's for Joanna Gosling, albeit not today, covered last week for Carrie Gracie)
Emily Maitlis (once a week in for Jane Hill)
Martine Croxall (in for Clive Myrie this Monday and Tuesday on top of her regular work)
Maxine Mawhinney (in this afternoon on top of her usual weekends)

Tim Willcox (been in for Annita McVeigh this week, also been in for Nicholas Owen on Sunday, Maxine on Saturday and Ben Brown)
Chris Eakin (often in the 11-2pm slot Fridays, also this Monday, has also covered Nicholas Owen)
Julian Worricker (covered the late slot twice, also always appears somewhere on Fridays)
Gavin Esler (5pm hour only, regular on Fridays but covered for Huw last week)
Adam Parsons (only appeared on Good Friday evening)
Gavin Grey (in for Chris Eakin's Sunday slot last week)
Nicholas Owen (in for Clive Myrie on Wednesday).

In fairness we've seen all of them before... it's just been a long time, those pairings were often on together back when Maxine and Chris were regulars on weekday double-headers and Carrie was a relief presenter for them. It was nice to see them reunited on screen, thought Chris and Carrie were particularly good together this morning.

Sue Thearle's absence since the NBH shift has been noticeable.
