I must say, not being used to Aaron, it did feel strange. Victoria's presentation at times seemed different to what I've seen before - though this is the first time I've seen Victoria present a longer form programme.

As a slight aside I notice that the weather team have had a slight change presumably as a result of news channel changes. Louise Lear who I think was doing the weather on Today (Radio 4) presented a forecast as 0827 for the news channel and 0857. Due to Breakfast timings this morning the 0827 seemed pointless as Matt Taylor didn't finish the Breakfast forecast till 0824.

Does anyone know if Breakfast now have to hit 0827 as an opt point or if the weather forecast is live to ensure 0830 is hit for Business Live?

Stephen Sackur didn't do GMT on most fridays, other presenters do if he's off.

An empty chair appearing on screen has happened on quite a few occasions elsewhere though. Wink

We will find out at the weekend although this could be step one or the plans have changed as I also remember the News Channel presenter was also meant to do the 8pm news summary, which hasn't happened so I imagine things have been revised (which is normal).

And the answer is the plans must have been revised as we've still got the dedicated BBC1 Presenter for the evening bulletins.

Which is what Martine confirmed a few days ago...

Mike Embley presenting on a weekend - that's rare. Is it because of Hilary Clinton's news?

Just down to rosters and annual leave I'd imagine. Peter Dobbie did the Friday/Saturday overnight news, but is now back on his normal weekend evening shift.

And also did the World News Today simulcast with the NC last night.

Well given that is presented by the normal Saturday/Sunday night presenter that isn't surprising. And is exactly what I posted (i.e. "his usual weekend evening shift").

Peter Dobbie's normal shift is Saturday and Sunday evenings.
