A Channel M original. Good to see him moving up the food chain at the BBC.
Ben Bland on Newsday, a first I think.

Rebecca Jones was presenting when I watched later in the evening - guessing Rebecca took over after BBC News at Ten. Clive presented the 2130 Election Tonight from the studio E and not A where that hour has historically come from.
A promo is aired showing the new Election program 'Today with Annita McVeigh' and 'Tonight with Clive Myrie'
Tonight is at 7:30pm and 9:30pm and Clive Myrie begins presenting on the channel at 6:30pm tonight. Will he be presenting till 0030?

Rebecca was also on when i was watching at 9. For anyone interested the parties seem to be being followed by Carole Walker/Jonny Dymond (Tories), Lucy Manning/Peter Hunt (Labour), Sophie Long/Chris Buckler (Lib Dems) & Robin Brant/Alex Forsyth (UKIP), with Norman Smith leading in the mornings for the NC and Vicki Young in the evenings. Jane Hill and Ben Brown also on the road as they were during the last election..

The 2130 editon was the repeat of 1930 so basically studio E was still not on air at that time.

I have to say Ben Bland looks like he could be the BBC's Cheif Science Officer! (This is my opinion based on seeing him on the TV and please someone let me know if I should remove this)
Babita Sharma has been a good relief on Impact. if the move were to become permeanent I wouldn't object as IMHO she's a very versatile presenter and has coped very well with presenting rolling breaking news coverage that has happened this calendar year so far. It's something that doesn't seem to happen so often during Newsday so you wouldn't get to notice this side of her presenting ability.
Has Daniela Ritorto taken over Adnan Nawaz's overnight slot on a permeanent basis? I noticed he's covering for Naga while she's on Breakfast.
I think it's good to see some of the relief presenters taking on more prominent roles and see them do what they do best!
Is Sophie Long acting as a correspondent during the Election campaign? Does anyone think Vicki Young will be the Laura Kuennesberg of 2015 after this election? I wonder if Newsnight will let her out on day release (as the saying goes) in order to reprise the role this time around. Personally I think Laura is a good candidate for Acting Deputy/Assistant Political Editor (depending how the hierarchy works) if they need a reinforcement during the campaign and aftermath of the Election, wishing of course Nick Robinson a full recovery.

Babita Sharma is a good presenter no doubt. I think given that Impact has been stamped "with Yalda Hakim" since not too long back, they would likely stick with Yalda as Impact's primary host for some time. I actually like Babita on Newsday, she has great chemistry with Rico I personally feel.
Adnan Nawaz is very good on The World Today, he has excellent conversational skills for the paper reviews. It's just fitting to see him on this slot.
