For the first time in a while i've been able to catch Simon McCoy and Annita McVeigh on the News channel.
I know its not the be all and end all of pairings but there seems to be little on air chemistry between the pair. It seems like the pair are treading on eggshells constantly, even with the light hearted stories.
I always liked the Simon and Carrie pairing, so i'm probably not used to the current set up.
I know the shift is being scrapped for the VD show in the longterm. Let's just hope Simon and Annita remain familiar faces on the channel after the schedule shake up.
Two-headed presentation with Lucy Hockings and Babita on the plane crash news from Studio B (3-screen side) on a normal bulletin. I assume Impact is giving way to the normal bulletin? Also assume Babita is scheduled for Impact and Lucy joins her, not the other way round?
Simon McCoy has tweeted that yesterday was his final day on the early morning shift before the Victoria Derbyshire programme begins. He will apparently be taking the afternoon slot for the duration of the election period (presumably indicating Ben Brown will, as with the last election, be on the road), but also tweeted that he was 'not sure' on his role after that point. No word on what Annita McVeigh will be doing. Also appears Clive Myrie will be presenting an election round-up at 7.30 weekdays, which seems similar to the Jon Sopel role in the 2010 election.
Annita McVeigh mentioned this morning That she will be hosting Election Today, (similar to Election Tonight what Clive will be hosting in the evenings.) from 8:30 next Monday morning.
Didn't had time to post last week, I saw Mariko Oi has started presenting from Singapore with Lebo Diseko in London. It looks like Lebo will be quite a familiar face on Newsday to substitute Babita when she's off. Kasia Madera is quite often given the 8am shift these days, it makes me think Geeta is more like a part-timer as she's one day on and the next she's off.
