BBC News: Presenters & Rotas

"Weird" is, I feel, a very subjective word in this instance.

Please explain why it is 'weird' that a BBC News presenter should present a BBC News bulletin.

Is she not a Business presenter?

I'd mean 'weird' as in Tanya's appearance on TWT, she hasn't been on this slot for ages. And also unusual rotas throughout the day, with presenters not on a certain slot regularly, but appears.
Meanwhile I think I saw Alice Baxter on Impact, earlier she did the 8am slot as well.

Tanya is the presenter of the weekday Business Edition and 1630/1930GMT editions of WBR from Monday to Thursday.


The business presenters do make appearances on World presenting general bulletins. Maryam Moshiri & Alice Baxter for example, also Sally Bundock had recently become a relief Friday presenter of TWT since Martine's departure.

Sally Bundock, in fact, has been Newsreading on World for quite a number of years, usually on a Friday, but long before the departure of Martine Dennis. Even back in the days of N9 and N8, Sally appeared as news presenter on occasion.

In other news........I'm really quite impressed by Daniela Ritorto of late. She's been used across all World output (Impact, News, The World Today, Newsday, Outside Source and World News Today - the latter, she's presenting right now), and is proving to be an extremely capable and flexible news presenter.

People need to remember that we are at the height of the summer holidays, so there are going to be unusual appearances.

Things should settle back down in September.

That explains the unusual rotas. I don't live in the UK and thus have the faintest idea about their holiday seasons. It's Gavin Grey now on TWT.

Is it just me that finds Clive Myrie intimidating?

Can't say I have ever felt that about his delivery.
