I think he's worked out that the 10 presenter sits at a particular desk in the newsroom and can be seen in the TOTH or behind Studio E.

The six or ten presenter sits in the middle of a bank of six desks with their back to studio E. It is therefore possible to work out who is presenting from certain trundle cam shots.

Well now the mystique has been ruined for me.

Posters in this thread, please take note of the latest rules on presenter/rota discussion - http://www.tvforum.co.uk/thenewsroom/presenter-rota-40300/ and the yellow box reminder message above the reply box when submitting a post.

Thanks, Asa

Were these new rules just implemented or were the regular offenders warned too? I do find it creepy and, sometimes disgusting, the level of detail in this thread specifically.

(Yes, I realise I was trying to guess where a certain presenter had came from to cover breaking news. I do try to keep out of rota threads, bar kudos'ing some legendary comebacks...)

Might BBC News Fix be an insider working at BBC?

Then wouldn't he be able to go and look in the internal rotas and find all the vitally-important information for which he claims to have such a pressing need?

Here comes my refrain once again... the people doing these shifts and the people organising them don't pay this much attention because their jobs a) mean they simply don't have time and b) even if they did, they've come up with better and more productive ways of filling it because - say it with me now - they're respected journalists working for a 24-hour news organisation!*

* And before you ask, I'm on my holidays, and just want to help young people who clearly have an interest in the business not screw up their entry into it - if they do want to find a way in, this level-of-scrutiny will be a massive turn-off for prospective mentors.

They are new rules and enforcements of existing ones yes, we won't be backdating any warnings, but being more vigilant in enforcing these ones from now on.

No. He's too busy with running his website to have an actual job. Plus if he had an actual job, with shifts and rotas himself, he might have realised how creepy it is to be publishing other peoples.

I'd be surprised if he's actually left school.

You're right - speaking as someone with a full time job, I certainly wouldn't like my routine and whereabouts on any given day published for anybody to see online. It's an invasion of privacy, pure and simple. If people want to keep these sorts of records then fine, but they really should not be published. I think Skygeek is absolutely right - if they are thinking of working in television one day then this behaviour is going to put off potential employers. At best it just shows you've got nothing better to do with your time, at worst it demonstrates creepy, obsessive behaviour that would be a huge turn-off. And don't ever think that nobody knows or won't find out, because I know from my limited contact with people who work in television that these sorts of sites are very well known and widely read (and ridiculed) by staff. You'd be amazed at how small sectors actually are - I work in a completely different sector but everyone knows everyone else, regardless of employer. It's a very small world these days and you don't want this sort of stuff to become a talking point.

For the record, my leave ends on the 18th, when my first shift starts at...

Sorry, what do you mean "Nobody cares about your rota, as you're only a producer"?

Nice to see Sam Naz returning to London after being on Look East.

Just made an appearance on the 90 second update, has Ellie gone on maternity leave yet?
