Tim Willcox on the 5am slot tomorrow. I wonder if they are trying out new possibilities in view of Naga Munchetty's imminent departure?

He has presented it before and fairly recently. Naga Munchetty is staying with World for a while yet.

I thought it would be more sensible to have Julian Worricker as he was in C and have Daniela Ritorto joining him once Outside Source had finished.

Is WN showing the local time on the Live bug when the NC is the lead channel?

Surely if it's a Friday, it's more like Martine Dennis' old slot?

During BBCWN programs, LIVE bugs show the local time... but I believe the L3's differ on the channel.
BBCNC's ticker has been on "BREAKING" status for the past hour now, while WN's ticker is still the regular ticker.

Speaing of Martine, it looks like NC And World will be staying together for the rest of the evening as she has just tweeted she will be taking over from Chris Rodgers at 9.

Chris Rogers now on World.

EDIT: looks like it's "dual presented"

Chris doing a great job on the NC, though I'd prefer if Maritne would take over from Daniela. Don't get me wrong, I like Daniela, but Martine is good with breaking news.

What's happened to the double headed presentation?

When Naga departs to NC, TWT will lose much of its identity with all its long-time presenters gone, ie. Komla, Martine, Naga. I think we should be seeing a lot of shuffling between Daniela and Rajesh. Rajesh for now seems to be comfortably alternating between TWT and 8am. David Eades and Geeta will continue to be regulars for 8am I'm thinking as it has been for a while.

Regarding the downed airliner, Ali Moore is in KL airport for live crossovers. I think Ali is very good. And it's another time Adnan is on shift covering an air disaster. Newsday features Kasia and minor appearances of Sharanjit, with no business reports.

I would imagine David Eades continuing to present the 8am slot in the future, but also filling-in on GMT and Global for the next few months as well.

Could Lucy Hockings return to the 5am slot on a more permanent basis? Or, perhaps, Kasia Madera or Babita Sharma?

The two vacant slots at Impact and Global are now taken by Yalda Hakim and Matthew Amroliwala respectively. And we presume George Alagiah will return to GMT in the near future.

It leaves Lucy, Babita, Kasia or Karin Giannone from the current team as potential TWT permanent anchors.

If they were to think outside the box and try something new-ish, the News and Business combination of Maxine Mawhinney and Declan Curry would be a good European Breakfast line-up in the 5-7am TWT slot.

As a long term (23 years) viewer of BBC World, I would prefer the latter option.

For the early shift on The NC We have Annita McVeigh in the Studio and Clive Myrie from Schiphol Airport covering the continuing Malaysian Plane disaster.

She's moving to Breakfast, not the news channel.
