Almost certainly easily replaced but the NC have lost their main on-location political presenter. Not for the first time either

I wonder if Matthew Amroliwala will still make any appearances on national bulletins as Jon Sopel did while presenting Global?

At a guess:

8.30 Simon McCoy/Joanna Gosling
12.00 Victoria Derbyshire
1.00 BBC News at 1
1.30 Ben Brown/Jane Hill
5.00 Huw Edwards

My guess/hope is something more radical perhaps involving changes at breakfast - less simulcasting maybe???

We haven't seen any major changes to TV News from James Harding yet and I would have thought he'd want to make some. So perhaps the news channel gets it's own breakfast show or the NC starts at 8. Victoria at 11 - 1 followed by the One which acts as a full 30 minute traditional bulletin and maybe something new in the afternoon. Either that or Victoria's on from 12-2 and the 1 isn't simulcast but as it's produced by the News Channel that seems odd but only having Victoria on for an hour seems a waste.

One think you can guarantee with the financial pressure they are under is that there won't be less simulcasting and I'd think the chance of their own breakfast show is zero.

With Victoria on her own at lunchtime they can now save a bit by cutting one presenter, and just have two double headed shifts a day.

I can imagine that's what they're going for, the 11-2 shift has been running single headed ever since the start of he World Cup anyway

Sounds a bit like a News channel version of WHYS?

I was thinking a bit more like Outside Source myself.

Good to see some changes happening...I would have thought that the morning shift will stay as it is, Ben will join Jane in the afternoons and I would move Joanna to Breakfast seeing as that role hasn't been confirmed yet and I think she would suit it well. I cant see them getting rid of Joanna but there isn't really going to be much space for her unleast Jane loses her slot to do more National work...

Seems to me like the news channel is going single headed all day. For me, i prefer double headed bulletins. With Carrie, Matthew, Jon and Louise leaving/ left the channel as a presenter and not being replaced. I hope it doesn't go to a format like BBC World with different programs, rolling news is much better imo.

Not quite sure where you get that from? They'd have to lose at least another 3 presenters to make that work.
