These are the people who stand out for me. Dani Sinha has already done a bit on BBC WN and Asad Ahmed has done things for Breakfast before but I could see these two in particular on the NC in the future.

Unlikely Asad Ahmed is gonna get much national exposure:

So am I. They must bring back Chris Eakin's regular late shift. It's really good. Smile[/quote]

I agree with you. Saying that though, I do like Clive and Martine.

Yalda Hakim is back on presenter duty once again on BBC WN, and it was fine most of the time... though there are some stuttering and she cannot pronounce Trevelyan right. Laughing

Who presents Impact on Friday? Is it Lyse Doucet or Lucy Hockings? I also had a nice treat today looking at BBC 2 at 1130 for World News in the UK, I never knew Nik Gowing was still presenting!

Also, what regular slots does Tim Willcox have on World News?

She was a bit better than the first time we saw her. I can't believe that she's only 29 years old. That's so young for a newsreader presenting on one of the news channels. Can't be many her age in that sort of job. Wonder were she'll be in 20 years.

I think Lucy Hockings presents Impact on Fridays. Nik Gowing often presents on that time of day seeing as he no longer presents The Hub. Tim Willcox presents on Friday afternoon.

Has Lucy Hockings ever appeared on domestic news? I think she's brilliant, but it's strange how you get the likes of Mishal Hussein, Jon Sopel, Tim Willcox etc who appear across the BBC's output, but presenters like Lucy Hockings who barely anyone in the UK will have ever heard of.

I think she only appeared when the NC & World joined up during either Gadaffi, Bin Laden or the Arab Spring. But she hasn't been on the Nationals or broadcast solo on the NC as far as I know

Of course she did used to have The World Today slot but I don't think that really counts does it?

Sort of. I recall that she sometimes presented the overnight shift during c.2001. This was of course during the days when News 24 produced the overnight simulcast so a tenuous argument could be made I suppose. Similarly, around the same time she sometimes presented the BBC World weekend morning shift which meant she presented half an hour of World News on News 24 at 09:30. Technically this was only seen by domestic viewers as BBC World had its own recording programming at that time. I can't ever recall her doing a pukka News 24 shift though.

I suspect her accent holds her back on domestic output.

But Mishal, Jon, and Tim are exceptionally talented journalists. Shame Jon has left NC, he was a real asset to the team (although sometime unprofessional!).
