As a former Watchdog researcher, I can tell you I loved every minute of working on the programme... EXCEPT the arduous rush-hour taxi journey from our offices at NBH to the studio in Covent Garden every week - not 10 minutes... more like half-an-hour given the time-of-day and the one-way system!.

Though - to be fair - if you need to get a celeb quickly across London you wouldn't use a cab, you'd use a Taxi-bike.

As a wheelchair user, that wasn't really possible for me! Ellie, on the other hand... Wink

She's more likely to keep on being the relief presenter on Impact. On BBC being a relief presenter is basically the same as being a main presenter really.

I'm guessing relief presenters still work for the majority of the week? Let's say s/he presents on Friday while their primary counterpart takes Mon-Thus, I guess s/he would still be at the BBC offices for at least another 3 days of the week, judging from seeing the full time presenters normally work 4 days/week. If so I'm just guessing, they'd probably do backstage work, like news editing.

Maxine, although i'm not sure if she presented until 4. I only caught a few minutes before Your Money.

Maxine in the studio until 4 when Martine Croxall took over with Chris Eakin covering the Tour de France from Yorkshire throughout the day (including the BBC1 lunchtime bulletin).

Lucy Hockings has been covering for George Alagaih on GMT this week (while I've managed to catch it, including Friday) so would explain her absence from Impact. Does anybody know if Kasia Maderia presented her shift as usual as she was covering in the slot in between GMT and Impact.

No Kasia Maderia didn't present her usual shift she presented World News Today along with the shift you mention above. Dani Sinha covered for Kasia.

Last half hour of TWT and I see Sally Bundock presenting business, and then the miscellaneous news leading up to the top of the hour. I wonder if she really did the entire TWT since the start. If so, it would mean she is doing the interview newspaper session solo. Can anyone confirm?

Naga Munchetty was on earlier so no Sally didn't do the whole program alone.

Hopefully there'll be a press release with more info. It's certainly a way of spicing the News Channel up, and making it less monotonous.

New presenter of Global is Matthew Amroliwala.
