Considering that the Hospital club and NBH is just a 10 minute drive, it can't be that hard?

I wasn't aware that it was coming from the Hospital club studios, i assumed it was coming from Elstree.

As a former Watchdog researcher, I can tell you I loved every minute of working on the programme... EXCEPT the arduous rush-hour taxi journey from our offices at NBH to the studio in Covent Garden every week - not 10 minutes... more like half-an-hour given the time-of-day and the one-way system!

In answer to your question about Ellie Crissell's appearance... an as-live run-through (but with bits recorded for air if necessary) starts at roughly 6pm, including live links and the playout of all VTs in full, before a quick food break just after 7pm. This run-through is when Annie - as the team call her - records the pre-titles opening and the trail that goes out just before "The One Show".

It is therefore entirely possible for Ellie to have recorded her bit entirely out-of-sequence just after 6pm, been back at NBH well in time for her bulletin (awful traffic permitting!) and to have her Watchdog contribution slotted seamlessly into the programme as-live. Again, I'm not saying that's what did happen, just that it's the most-likely scenario to explain her "dual presence".

It'd make the most logical sense. There was no pan shot from Chris and Ellie to Annie who was in the interview area of the set.

I wouldn't know... love the show (and my former colleagues) though I do, I had to get up for a 4am breakfast telly shift!

I think she is a regular cover actually, she's been credited for it for the last few months on Wikipedia.

I remembered there was some talk here previously regarding the possibility of Lucy Hockings being moved to a more regular role on Global. Has she been on it yet and is there any truth to that speculation on her being a regular on Global? Since Yalda has been assigned as the primary host for Impact, I've seen less of Lucy presenting Impact. Even on Fridays, we get an assortment of other presenters on Impact quite often.

Remember, Jon Sopel will be leaving soon for Washington and the post of North America Editor, so it's entirely possible. She's more than capable, that's for sure.

She's more likely to keep on being the relief presenter on Impact. On BBC being a relief presenter is basically the same as being a main presenter really.

Lucy Hockings has presented Global before but not since the Jon Sopel moving to the US news was announced.

For those keeping note tomorrow-Chris Eakin has said on Twitter that he will be on Location duty in Leeds for the NC Tomorrow covering the Tour De France which begins Yorkshire this weekend-Let's hope it doesn't pour with rain!
