All things being equal and without DQF an 8pm hour slot would be best. Wouldn't conflict with C4N. Could be filled with content from the Western Hemisphere and a round up of Local headline stories culled from the 1830 BBC One slots.
Sophie Long did the News at Six half hour on the NC and then Gavin Esler returned after Sportsday at 7:00.
Has Sophie Long presented anything else today or has she just appeared for half an hour? As if this is the case presumably they could have just done the six half hour from Studio C and then moved to A during Sportsday preventing the need for the extra person.
Could this hopefully be something I have been playing around with in my own speculative BBC News schedule. A BBC World News style 'digest' programme (GMT, Impact, Global) possibly airing at 7pm and acting as BBC News channel's main daily bulletin even though it has just shared the BBC News at Six with BBC One.
Basically a relaunch of News 24 tonight. Can't see it happening TBH. Going up against both Channel 4 news and World News Today on Bbc 4 where it would have to compete for the same guests and correspondents.

I take it, this is part of the presenter shake up across the news channel?
