Looks like this is the solution to the arrival of Penny as education editor as apparently her reporting role will be changing to 'more general UK affairs' as well.

It's been announced a few weeks ago that Annita is now permanent on the mornings with Simon and that Gavin will do more early evenings on the channel.
You will see Reeta on the NC next week on Monday at 0830 for her first shift and on Saturday bullies next week.
I wonder if it's Relief shifts Reeta will be getting or the early shift (since they still haven't announced Carrie Gracie's replacement yet although Annita McVeigh has been doing this shift for the past 3 weeks with Gavin Esler doing the evening shift on and off since Easter.)

Goodness, lots of changes going on! A sensible change to the religious affairs brief for the 21st century, and I expect we will see some challenging journalism from Caroline in that role. Is Jonathan Beale still the other defence correpondent? Reeta has done quite well to jump straight to Saturday bulletins, though I expect she will be quite a good presenter, I have enjoyed her work as correspondent. What is happening to Sophie Long if Reeta is doing more cover and Annita has the morning shift. Good that Gavin has been given an expanded role following his departure from Newsnight.

Ooh Thanks for that info-I'm surprised we haven't seen a press release for all of this (unless were getting one on Monday.)
On Another note, Kate Silverton's last bulletins before Maternity leave are tonight althrough what time the late bulletin will go out depends on when Eurovision ends.
