Maryam has done the last two weekends in the early slot normally taken by Alice Baxter. Dani Sinha the mid shift and Peter Dobbie the late.
Maryam was a regular weekend presenter on World back in the N8 and N9 days at TVC.

I see. I didn't see Maryam on World since the move to NBH until pretty recently, maybe mid of last year. I saw her first when she was presenting business on TWT with Naga. Was she appearing on a timeslot I seldom watch after NBH started being used or did she take a hiatus?

She was not around just before and after the move to Broadcasting House as she was on Maternity Leave.

Maleen Saeed is doing the morning shift on BBC World this morning. First time I've seen her with news.

Oh yes! I was talking to an insider around January and meanwhile at the time was helping Maleen while piloting for WBR. Apparently she will be becoming a regular for Business news!

I see, no wonder.
It's Peter Dobbie on 8am shift today (Nik's spot). I've noticed Peter likes the line "I'm Peter Dobbie with the BBC World News." Anyone else thinks the the is a little unnecessary?

No - the opposite. Arguably it's more correct British English.
The sentence "I'm Peter Dobbie with BBC World News" sounds very American - with the "BBC World News" referring to the channel. That's a US English style of construction.
The sentence "I'm Peter Dobbie with the BBC World News" sounds like British English - "with the BBC World News" is suggesting he is bringing us a bulletin of BBC World News (i.e. it tells us what he is presenting not what channel he is on)

I agree , although almost every other presenter uses the other version meaning it sounds slightly out of place.
