Fiona presented 31 times on the news channel last year, and presented a lunchtime bulletin twice on BBC1.

She was last on screen on the 1st November on the 0830-1100 shift with Tim

How does recording this information enhance your life? What enjoyment do you get out of knowing these things?

I don't do it by myself, we are a group of 3, and just do it for collection of data to show you who has presented when. It's all online here at http://www.bbcnewsfix.moonfruit.co.uk

yeh, I think the actual problem is a lot of people find that very strange, maybe even a little creepy.

I feel somehow associated to it too. I feel as though posts like these are beginning to define this site, or at least this sub-forum, to those who might be looking in. And I'd rather they didn't. :/

Because to the majority they're strange... sorry.

It's easier to get through these posts if you read them in the voice of Alan Dedicoat: "31, last joined us three Wednesdays ago... and also the number of kids activity centres that were built last year thanks to National Lottery funding..."

Very lively and funny newspaper review session on Twt with Naga and Sally, with some joke about the new Fed chairman looking more friendly and approachable than her predecessors. Naga is always a good live discussion host.

I've noticed that Tanya Beckett is now the face of Weekend World on the Breakfillers... Is she the new host?

Who presented today's 11am-2pm shift on the NC?
Ben Brown appears to be on location today... was it Joanna Gosling flying solo in the studio?

Yes Joanna Gosling was on her own in the studio

Ben was also on location for both the 2-5 shift (with Matthew Amroliwala and Jane Hill in the studio) and the News at Five (with Huw Edwards in the studio)

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Martine Croxall is the only person who can replace Carrie Gracie. She has a serious yet warm and friendly delivery, which I think is crucial for 8:30 in the morning, and I'd suggest is actually one of the most capable and experienced newsreaders on the channel now. She and Simon appear to get on well without it getting in the way of the news, and they compliment each other well. It's clear from their twitter interactions they enjoy working with each other, too. There's something stilted about some of the other pairings they've tried with him, and Simon and Carrie were the last 'enjoyable' pairing remaining.

^Tanya Beckett shares Weekend World presenting duties with Aaron Heslehurst and, occasionally, Rajan Datar and Fiona Foster if it's part of a Focus theme.

Just saw BBC Weather's Chris Fawkes appearing on BBC World News with Alice Baxter a few moments ago, and he introducing a report by none other than Claire Marshall! Haven't seen her in ages.

She returned to the BBC as an Environment Correspondent in November after maternity leave (she was previously based in the Midlands but has been replaced by Sian Lloyd)
