I'm quite a regular viewer of Newsday but this is a first for me seeing Adnan Nawaz present the London side of things.

Has he presented it before?

Pretty sure he has. Didn't he cover the odd Newsday before he became a regular (overnight) presenter? I'm sure it was his stop gap between moving from Sport to main News - but could be wrong.

Presented regularly while Kasia Madera was on maternity leave, and had a several month stint on those same shifts before Newsday began.

Geeta Guru-Murthy on the 5AM hour today. Has this happened before?

That's nonsense. She hasn't presented the six or the ten for a long time. She has presented the news at weekends, but not the weekday bulletins.

Adnan has done Newsday a few times, mainly from N8, IIRC.

Geeta on the 5am: in the dim and distant past, back to the days of N9, yes, she did some. However, not in the recent past. Geeta was, for a while, in the slot just vacated by Martine Dennis (Fri to Sunday earlies).

Interesting to see Mariko Oi in the London studio as well, and even more interesting, reporting from there on a world affairs story as opposed to business.

Actually, when I think about it...in the last couple of years the stand ins have been Mishal, Sian and Emily. So, it's quite feasible at the moment that with Sian off at the moment, Mishal now on Today and Emily doing more for Newsnight that none of them could have been available. Jane might get a few more bulletins over the months ahead.

Tim Willcox on another long day, presented this morning’s 0830-1100 shift with Annita and earlier presented World News Today from 1900.

Mariko Oi is settling in well! Her first day I think, and she's presenting tonight's Business Edition! She is a good presenter!
