Yeah Riz Latif. Does this mean we shall be seeing less of her on BBC LOndon? I hope so, think she's more suited to national. BBC LOndon is actually not my preferred regional choice I've been bbc for years bust since moving to London I watch London Tonight more often now!

I'm sorry BBC World - Victoria was not with 5 Live from the start. From memory she joined in about 1998 - 4 years after it started.

It was originally planned to be Matthew Amroliwala. I don't mind though because I really like Riz and she makes a good change to the usual faces!

Is wearing a poppy compulsory for presenters? Clive didn't have one then up one pops just before 7.30

Er why is national cover always 'BBC London' presenters?(If Matthew A was off sick, fair enough!)

You could also argue why aren't NC presenters good enough for the nationals?

Victoria Derbyshire is doing a sterling job on the NC this evening. I believe her contract is still not signed for 5 Live's move to Salford in 2011, so maybe it's a possible line for her to follow should she not want to up sticks to Manchester.

You realise the weekend bulletin, with the sole exceptions of Kate Silverton and Mishal Husain, is made up of NC presenters week in week out. My guess would be they felt Riz - an experienced newsreader on BBC London and well known to viewers through the 90 second update - was felt more suited to a national bulletin than Victoria Derbyshire who has little television experience and Clive Myrie who has only a few months newsreading experience. And what other "'BBC London' presenters" are used as national cover? I've yet to see Asad Ahmed, Victoria Hollins, Louisa Preston or Mike Ramsden appear in N6.
