I can't put my finger on quite what makes Tim so incredibly unwatchable. I think it's his wooden voice, accent, shortness, face, silvering hair and the fact he comes across as a humourless robot.

You don't like someone because he has "silvering hair"?

Shallow much?

Here's a clue, he is a newsreader. He isn't going to giggle his way through a cyclone story, is he?

He isnt anything special.

He was being sarcastic. (I hope)

Sadly knowing how James normally posts on here i suspect he wasn't being sarcastic at all.

Yes, totally sarcastic.

I find it quite difficult to watch Tim, for a very specific reason. However, I couldn't possibly say why here on this forum. It would be labelled as libelous or something.

Naughty Peter Sissons, Odd-Box started and they forgot to fade him down and could still be heard in the background. Then as it was being introduced he said "B***ocks he should have said." Anyone manage to catch it?

Shouldn't have done that! You can never guarantee you won't be heard in a TV studio, so the last thing you should do is say something your mother wouldn't like!

I think he's excellent on structured bulletins - he's not so good on rolling news, but he's still good IMO.

What are you talking about? He's probably one of the best news presenters the BBC has got for "proper" bulletins on BBC One. Good to see him back on the network news!!

Is this just a one off? Or is the BBC now going to make better use of staffing and use the news channel presenter for the network bulletin.

Well Sissons said at the end that Joanna would be doing the late bulletin so doesn't look like they are using the duty presenter later this evening.

Incidentally I believe it will be Joanna's first national bulletin.
