The BBC supposedly made general cuts in its business unit, having demobilized its presence at the Stock Exchange, etc. But I haven't noticed any rationalization in the presenter line-up. Today on BBC World, we have Sally Eden and now Maryam Moshiri doing the business news. Sally Bundock is reading the main news. Juliette Foster presented the news and business last night and Aaron Heslehurst, Jamie Robertson and Tanya Beckett are all still around. Even supplementary business presentation is provided by Owen Thomas from time to time.

So, have there actually been any cuts made in the business presenter line-up? I can't think of any at all.

Who says there was ever going to be? The presenters will only make up a small number of employees employed by the business department and they will (presumably) need to keep a certain number of presenters on their books anyway to fill all the bulletins! And actually the fact that Mariam Moshiri would be on, on a Friday, presenting the business news on BBC World News is surely an indication that their team is having to be more flexible!

Out of interest does anyone know the name of the guy who was doing the business earlier this week on the NC? And does anyone know if Rachel Horne ( Shocked ) is coming back to present afternoons on the NC after her maternity leave (please say no please say no)?

Tanya Beckett has been covering for Adam Shaw on the Today programme this week. It's a shame she doesn't get the role permanently. She is one of the best business broadcasters that the BBC have, so it's a shame for domestic viewers that she is tucked away on BBC World News most of the time.

Just thought you'd like to know that Phillippa Thomas is presenting World News America tonight. Another great presenter. I've enjoyed Sonia Smith on as well in recent weeks.

She hasn't recently. It has mainly been Sonia Smith we have seen, besides from Matt and Katty who usually present. I just wanted to say that she suits the programme, and she's generally a very good presenter.

Do you really have to be so pedantic? Too many people on the forum do that. We could all do without people like you on the forum. Just read the post and accept it.

How can you watch bbcworld news in the UK?

It's simulcast on the BBC News Channel between 1am and 5am (IIRC).

You could possibly get a streaming feed from somewhere, although I don't have one myself.

Install a satellite dish pointed at Hotbird 13 degrees East and buy a digital FTA receiver. You can watch BBC World 24/7 in all its glory.

Is it me or has Tim Willcox presented the 11-2 shift with Luisa Baldini and I have just spotted him on the 2-5 shift with Sophie Long.
