I'm sorry, since when was she required to present 52 weeks of the year? Is it not possible that on Thursday she was in London, today she's on holiday?
Perhaps Kate was on holiday? Or was ill? Or is stuck in a closet somewhere in TVC and noone can find her? As for Bill he has been off filming for Children in Need with Louise Minchin, so perhaps he's stuck abroad somewhere? Or got ill?
Perhaps she's taken a few days off? Time off to spend with her kids? Maybe she was sick on the other days?
As stated Louise Minchin has been away filming for CIN.

Is this illegal now? Perhaps because she is now a relief presenter for the channel? Which also explains why she was on Breakfast, as they seem to just use NC relief presenters now (Jon Kay and Robert Hall as examples).

I was certainly surprised when I switched on the television too. Truly scraping the barrel in terms of relief presenters. Let's see what next week throws at us in terms of relief.

I don't understand this obsession with the term "scraping the barrel" whenever a new face happens to pop up covering a shift. Geoff Clark is a very acomplished presenter and there is no reason why he can't cover for a few hours. Besides, everyone has to appear for their first time at some point.
