Henry VIII's presenting on the News Channel this evening!

EDIT: No, it's Geoff Clark apparently - he seems OK so far, but he is quite large!

Laughing - So true

Very first impressions are good - shows he knows what he is doing unlike some of those we have had covering this summer in various shifts
TV
TVN
Apparently he is leaving the BBC in October so don't get too attached.

But a good addition in the meantime I think.

By the way, for anyone who didn't know Dan Walker of News Channel fame is replacing Manish Bhasin on Football Focus, with Manish moving over to present the BBC's new football league show.

Never seen him before but I recognise the name. Is he from one of the regions?

South East today, one of the main presenters.

Ah right, thanks. I just did a google search for his name, and it seems that he and his co-presenter are being axed from the programme in the Autumn in favour of younger presenters (EDIT: as I see TVN just mentioned), so if he does well on the news channel perhaps he could be in for a move.

I liked him.

Sue Thearle is presenting Maxine's usual Saturday shift which is something new in itself but I saw her presenting the sport on breakfast at 9.30. Did she do all the other breakfast bulletins? If so that would be one hell of a shift considering Maxine usually finishes at 4!

If she presented on Breakfast then it's possible she's a last minute stand in for someone else on the 10am shift. Otherwise that is a very long shift. I wouldn't be surprised if she's replaced at 11 or 12.

Well she's just skipped from news to sport then back to news without the bat of an eyelid. It would make sense that she's covering for someone but she can't do everything till 4! She'll be in the weather studio in the next hour!

Isn't it normally the case that whoever presents sport on Breakfast also presents the sport on the news channel for the rest of the morning? Given that Sue is now presenting both it sounds like she is filling in until someone else arrives. Where's Tim when you need him?

Tim was on last night covering Chris Eakin's slot.

If they're short... I'll cover for them! Smile Seems like they need all the help they can get with the lack of presenters. Wink
