Being from the South West, I've noticed Sophie Long for a while. I think she's slotted into rolling news very well. I hope she gets an opportunity on either the 1 or 6 sooner rather than later.

Anyone else have views on her presentation skills?

On the six, the BBC's South Asia correspondent was in a DTL as part of Brian Hanrahan package... from BBC Sheffield. Seems like a fairly random place for him to be.

It was the Lib Dem leader who was in Sheffield

Must have been a duff aston then, the guy in Sheffield (although it wasn't named as such) was definitely captioned as South Asia Correspondent

You've got to love that nobody seems to know that Nick Clegg is the leader of the Lib Dems though!

Nicky was right (as usual Smile ) - it was Nick Clegg, with a dodgy aston

I think she might be - she's down to do it next week in the RT and Sian hasn't been on holiday or anything so it loks like they've decided it's better to have Fiona do the Friday Six and Ten.

Considering by all accounts she's the highest paid BBC newsreader I should bloody well think so!

Don't forget however she regularly did Sunday bulletins, but hasn't since Mishal Hussein became the main Sunday presenter, so taking on the Friday Six perhaps alleviates this.

Just a joke my friend, and nothing to do with their policies. Wink

She's also doing Monday and Tuesday's Six next week according to the RT, despite not doing the Ten .
