Huw Edwards on a Saturday? Is there a big announcement this evening. Surely the D-Day aniversary does not warrant its top anchor to come into it London studio for a 10 minute news bulletin, when his deputy has just presented a 90 minute programme on location.
I thought it was a bit odd as well - seems to be a last minute thing, as he's not listed in the Radio Times. Possibly they are expecting further political developments to take place?
Does seem strange, but remember we have a crazy news weekend, They could have got wind of something big to emerge in the Sunday's when they publish at 9pm. There's been massive dislocation of presenters since Wednesday with the political shenanigans and tomorrow evening will be stupidly hectic too.
I was thinking perhaps that a senior news presenter would be standing by this weekend just in case something major breaks. I suppose it makes sense that that senior presenter would read the scheduled bulletins as well - saves 'wasting' a presenter.
Although with Roger Johnson on the NC again tonight, they must be pretty short of cover considering its such a significant news weekend.

Possibly, however there are a load of presenters who've done the News Channel, and indeed plenty who regularly appear on World, so I can't really understand them being 'that' short.
