It looks like the relief presenters will be here for the dying days of N24 at TVC/N6.
My prediction for the rota line-up would be this:
8.30-10.00 Carrie
10.00-12.00 Simon
12.00-13.00 Matthew
13.30-14.00 Matthew
14.00-15.00 Matthew
15.00-17.00 Jane
17.00-18.00 Huw
18.30-21.00 Martine
onwards: Clive
The channel will still be double-headed in the most part. I'd be inclined to pro-long shifts and actually make the first shift of the day single headed (since breaking news usually comes in from 11am). Anyway, we know Simon/Carrie are sticking in the same spots. There's been suggestions of a fixed evening shift for Martine Croxall but that's all we know at this moment.
Maybe Martine will be presenting 21:00-22:00 from Studio A and then 22:30-01:00 from Studio E? Sophie Long and Ben Brown won't be missed from the channel if they've been axed as main presenters - they are always much better when given on-location assignments. Chris Eakin will be missed because he is great in the studio and on-location, hopefully he will still appear on the NC in daytimes as a relief from now! Hopefully Joanna Gosling isn't axed either because she's always been one of their best imo.
From what I've heard, you're not getting rid of Ben Brown that easily. And with Clive on the late shift (which I understand will now begin at 21:00 from Studio A...) and, as I understand it, Annita to weekdays, my money would be that Martine is Clive's shadow on Fridays and weekends. Though I would love for Fiona Armstrong to have a regular weekend shift...
As I understand it the shifts themselves are staying pretty much the same, with only one shift currently double headed going to single headed. If that is the case, and assuming nobody joins the channel next week (and I think we'd have heard if that were the case) Jon Sopel, Louise Minchin and Rachel Schofield would all have left regular positions on the channel, with Chris moving more to a 'roving' reporter role. While it's entirely possible other presenters (like Sophie Long/ Joanna Gosling) might also leave, I suspect they'll just move to other roles.

Very interesting to see Jon Kay doing his second shift of the day at 7pm, and solo! Definitely low on presenters this week.
Erm, why? In the past, under the current regime, the 22:30 presenter has stepped in at 21:30 as normal. Seeing as Jon wasn't on air again until 19:00, I'd assume he's staying on air until 21:30.
