I think Jon Sopel is utterly superb... was wasted on domestic BBC News, and is definitely the best presenter on the BBC World News next to Lyse Doucet. After watching Global a few times I've come to the conclusion that calling it 'Jon Sopel Live' would not have been out of place, and there is a distinct possibility that we could see that programme name appear in the not so distant future.
Just a shame that BBC world news isn't really double headed because Jon Sopel winding up his co presenter is always great fun to see. Even on his first on air day on Global he had a joke with the floor manager.
Gavin Grey and Joanna Gosling aren't the best pairing I've seen on the News Channel - Joanna looks uncomfortable alongside him and they seem very stilted together. I normally think Gavin is a great presenter but I think he's a little overbearing when presenting with others - far better on his own IMO.
Yes - she pops up out of nowhere to present for a few days and I always forget how good she is, particularly when she's the main presenter. It'd be nice to see her do Breakfast this coming Sunday again, but I expect she'll be doing Sat/Sun evening on the NC.
Marathon day for Tim and his pink socks today. He did the long late morning shift on World (9-1pm cet) then his regular Friday World shift which includes 3 bulletins (5,6,7pm cet) and I see him now on News channel doing the late shift which if I'm correct is also his regular shift.

Gavin Grey just starting his eighth hour on air! I wonder whether he'll continue to midnight to make it an 11 hour shift!
