How does he do it??!! I hope he gets a good wage for working those hours. How can the BBC get away with giving those working hours to someone? Does he do it voluntarily?
It's ridiculous. Not really sure it makes him look like a soldier or a tad desperate.

I'm sure Tim will be freelance. He will no doubt be paid on a per-shift basis, so if he does three separate shifts, he will get paid three times. If you don't find the work hugely demanding, and don't have plans, then it is a very good way of making a very decent amount of money in a short space of time.
Many freelancers - in lots of professions - work on the "never turn work down" mantra - as you never know when it will dry up. Tim sounds no different.
Whether the BBC should be offering him so much is a different question - though there should be very few people who notice him on both World News and the News Channel on a given day (as they don't officially broadcast to the same regions - though you could be traveling and see both networks in a day)
Tomasz Schafernaker (I hope that's spelt correctly) kindly complimented Simon McCoy's green tie before. He seemed quite taken by it. He said that the tie looked lush, and that the weather did as well. What is it with him and his unusual comments?!
Tim Willcox doing his usual trick of all hours hosting - after doing the News Channel evening shift with Annita McVeigh last night he was back to cover David Eades shift on World this morning, followed by a return at 7pm for The World Today on BBC Four, then continuing on World News for Mike Embley's shift, and finally popping up on the news channel to cover Chris Eakin!
That explains why he has now become Thin Willcox!!!! The poor fellow must be exhausted! I know I would be.
With Ben Geoghaegan on Stuart's weekend evening shift for the second week. Really dissapointed that it appears Stuart hasn't become permenant - I thought he was a great presenter. Hopefully he'll at least do somer cover shifts.
Meanwhile Kate Silverton is on the Ten tonight, for what I believe is the first time (EDIT - As DVB just beat me to saying!)
Stuart had popped up from time to time on the News Channel for about a year before his "5 month stint" there. So, hopefully he will still be back as a relief presenter.
From Gordon Burns' newsletter this week:
Another who has returned to the fold is STUART FLINDERS. Regular readers of the newsletter will remember he landed a 5 month stint presenting on the BBC News Channel in London. It’s a very demanding job being on air for 3 hours anchoring a live programme that covers the world. Whatever story breaks you have to have the ability to cope with it, be thrown sudden interviews, ask intelligent questions and take instructions down your earpiece. By all accounts he did a great job which included presenting programmes during the American Presidential election, the Israeli attacks on Gazza and the recent shootings in Northern Ireland. He says it was a fantastic experience and he loved every minute of it. We’d hate to lose him on North West Tonight but I wouldn’t mind betting it’s only a matter of time before he’s called back. They already want him to do some weekend shifts so keep an eye out for him.
Stuart did a really good job, assuming the position of Chris Lowe mostly, working with Annita McVeigh. It's very good news to hear that he'll be doing weekends on the channel. He had quite a good chemistry with Annita, who I normally regard to be quite boring and undynamic.
Where Sky has gained one, the BBC seemed to have lost one. Any idea where Joanna Gosling disappeared off to tonight? She was certainly around before 7.30 but Ben's all on his own now.
