After seeing Alice Baxter on the news yesterday during the strike, it would be nice if she would move from business to news when the business bulletins are axed. She's definitely one to watch out for!

I agree, I liked her. With the departure of Jon Sopel, I personally think the NC rota needs a shake up tbh with the exception of Simon and Carrie. Some people need to go back to reporting Wink

Does one of those people's name rhyme with Pen Crown, because then I'd agree with you! Without descending into fantasy mode (since it's banned) I'd like Chris Eakin to move to daytime, Simon & Carrie to get the afternoon slot and Clive Myrie, Sophie Long and Ben Brown to disappear from the news desk!

I'd rather see Juliette Foster TBH. Commands much more respect on screen IMHO.

I can't help but notice that David Eades has moved permanently to weekends, who presented the slot before he moved there? Is Lyse Doucet now permanently on location as Chief International Correspendent?

Not a good combinaton of Joanna Gosling and Gavin Grey - I didn't think Joanna looked too comfortable.

Before the relaunch, the weekend presenters were Martine Dennis, Karin Giannone and Peter Dobbie. However, all of them have presented at weekends since the relaunch and I think they still are the regular weekend presenters. The reason why David Eades presented last weekend may have been that Martine Dennis covered for Naga Munchetty on the TWT slot last week and hence didn't present her usual weekend shift.

Still, it is quite strange that David Eades got sidelined so suddenly since the relaunch. Overall, he used to be one of the lead anchors of BBC World News, which is underlined by the fact that with Nik Gowing the channel's most senior presenter took over his former slot.

But how does rotation goes on BBC News, I remember before that David Eades and Martine Dennis presents The World Today before, but now it's Naga while the two had presented at some random day or so...

Speaking of which, Tanya Beckett presented Business yesterday on an unusual hour... did she still present Business Edition? Very Happy

From what I could gather, weekend shifts work like this now:

SATURDAY: Martine/David/Karin
SUNDAY: Peter/David/Karin

Dont see overnights so not so sure about them, I think it's Kasia on Saturday and former sport presenter whose name I cant remember now on Sundays.

Yes.

Babita Sarma on Impact today. That's a first.

Babita Sarma is presenting Impact ... she finally has some airtime on BBC WN's prime programs, not just Newsday during overnights.

Babita and Jon recalling their little on air ''incident'' from News Channel a few years ago, she says she calls him Sops now (he called her Babs back then and it was followed by very bizzare banter and Emily trying to make them stop).

By the way, I love this segment at the end of Impact when Jon joins Mishal to chat about what's coming up.

Here is the so-called incident! How Babita has rised up the ranks since then!
