Unusually, Komla Dumor did the 6:30pm London time edition of World Business Report on BBC World just now. And he just wrapped up his edition of Focus on Africa thirty minutes beforehand.
Oh that means he'll be doing film 24 too. who's been on the five this week?
Emily Maitlis on Monday and Tuesday, Nicholas Owen on Wednesday and Thursday.
Very unsual to see Jon present the Five on a Friday. He did the One last Friday. I wonder if this will be a regular occurrence with him presenting one or the other on a Friday, whilst also doing Global Monday-Thursday?

Presumably it's part of his relief role remaining on domestic, it's just that he's appeared two weeks in a row because Sophie Raworth was presenting the Six/Ten last week and Gavin Esler is off this week and therefore needed cover.
Besides, good to see Jon Sopel is still being used on domestic. Hopefully he becomes more used once the move to BH (possibly on Saturday Weekend News alternating with Kate Silverton?)
It's a shame he seems to be left on his own for the most part as it's always fun to see him interact with a co presenter, (although the ladies of BBC News might disagree with me on that) even on the first Global he was singling out the Floor manager for a round of drinks.
Has Tim Franks replaced James Pearce as the 'main' sports correspondent? I know he's been appearing as a sports correspondent for a while now, but he seems to be appearing on BBC 1 bulletins more and more frequently since Pearce left.

Tim Franks has been a sports correspondent for a few years. He also presents Newshour on the World Service which must take up quite a lot of his time.

And........he occasionally fills in for Stephen Sackur on HardTalk as well.
Jon Sopel after talking to an expert and Aaron Heslehurst on the S&P lawsuit issue:
"Thanks Aaron for taking over the interview... ah, The Aaron Heslehurst show. Just like what happened last time, during the budget."
