The less obvious pairing of Joanna Gosling and Carole Walker on the NC this evening.

Don't judge me for being hyper-observant.

However, I noticed that Jon Sopel (who anchored today's Global Sopel from two different sets) appears not to wear an earpiece in either of his (two) ears. How does he know what's going on?

Or, is it just a case of him wearing and ultra-small insert which nobody can see.

You can get earpieces which are very small and wireless, but compromise on sound quality coming in. Maybe he had a really hidden wired one!

What do you mean by 2 sets? He was at both ends of Studio B, or he moved elsewhere?

And Nicholas Owen appearing out of the blue on the late shift - can't remember him ever doing it before. A great substitute for Chris Eakin actually as they both have lots of charisma, which comes in handy for the newspaper reviews.

Now that Jon Sopel's moved to BBC World News, it appears that Clive Myrie is actually now the main afternoon presenter alongside Emily Maitlis/Sophie Long for the time being at least. Whether this will remain the case with the expected rota refresh that's due to happen when the channel moves to NBH, is anyone's guess.

Personally I like Clive as an autocue reader and interviewer - very slick, but isn't so great when it comes to interacting with his co-presenters. There are certainly worse presenters around - such as Ben Brown, for example!

Random male presenters until they move to NBH. Then that slot gets a regular male presente again.

That fits with what I've heard. Apparently you're being pared with someone called 'Moira', whoever that is.

Sian Williams presenting PM on Radio 4 at the moment. I think this is her first Radio 4 news programme (possibly excluding Broadcasting House). It will be interesting to see if they use her more on Radio 4 news as opposed to lighter stuff like Saturday Live.

It's good to hear that she is on PM. I think Sian is a bit underused. With Huw being off the last couple of weeks, it would have been nice to see her on the Ten.

Tim Willcox on Monday, Nicholas Owen on Tuesday. Who presented the late shift on Wednesday?
