Sophie Long did this afternoon's bulletin at 17:05. Has she done a BBC One bulletin before, or is this her first time? She did a very good job.
She's done the 8pm at least once and maybe weekend Breakfast once or twice. Ive a funny feeling she might have also done Sunday lunchtime before as well on the Politics Show.
Did Amanda Davies present the sport on Breakfast this morning? She was certainly on when Nick Owen was presenting his 9-1 shift. She's just popped up on the late national news. Long day if she's been in since the early hours.
I notice that there is a double-header on BBC News at the moment, with Annita McVeigh and Tim Willcox. Presumably this is needed so they can cover the breaking news story, the N. Korean rocket launch. It's just you would normally expect just a single-header at this time of the night. You wouldn't think it's necessary to have two presenters.
Marginal call, but the UN discussions which have just broken up could have turned 'undiplomatic' and needed a considerable amount of effort to cover. On the balance I suppose it was a worthwhile decision.

Kasia Madera did the sport on Breakfast this morning.
Unusual to see Kasia doing the sport. I've only ever seen her on the BBCi Headline summaries before. Do you think she'll be covering for the school holidays at all, or next weekend?

Sonia Mcgochlan(sp?) did breakfast and then kasia popped up about 9.15 as Nick started to read the sport for her

I think the 7-12 shift used to be double anchored until the end, but whenever Ive seen it recently one of the presenters had gone home by the 11pm hour
On Saturday night they had Simon McCoy with Anita McVeigh. I presume he did the BBC1 bulletin as part of that shift - might as well since the Saturday night BBC1 presenter is normally only on air for 15-20 minutes
Tim Willcox doing his usual trick of all hours hosting - after doing the News Channel evening shift with Annita McVeigh last night he was back to cover David Eades shift on World this morning, followed by a return at 7pm for The World Today on BBC Four, then continuing on World News for Mike Embley's shift, and finally popping up on the news channel to cover Chris Eakin!
How does he do it??!! I hope he gets a good wage for working those hours. How can the BBC get away with giving those working hours to someone? Does he do it voluntarily?
