What I find funny is that a while ago people were complaining about this thread and how long it had become. The fact of the matter is that a good chunk of the thread is people complaining about the thread, arguments and saying what is or isn't appropriate.

Just a little observation I've made in the last few months particularly.

Those rules are clearly visible every time someone makes a post on Neon, so I thought I should post them for non-Neon users in a clear a manner as possible.

Asa made it very clear a few pages back that people who don't like this thread should just move on and not comment on it.

If you disagree with something somebody has written, click the report a post function. No need to do anything else other than that.

I keep clicking on here thinking that something exciting (like Matthew Amroliwala wearing a yellow tie) is happening and it turns out to be people arguing how this thread is pointless.

If you don't like it please just move on. It isn't the end of the world if somebody wants to point out Bill Turnbull is unusually presenting the Ten O'Clock news so why not let them get on with it? I'm not saying it's right or wrong, I'm saying that you're head is not going to explode just because you accidentally read it (unless you really let it get to you).

If somebody breaks the rules, report if you think it is necessary, then sit back and leave it to the moderators to deal with. That is why we have moderators on the forum. This means it really isn't necessary for a member to come along and clog up the thread moaning about how everyone who posts on this thread.

My post was referring to Westy2's post about Tim. No need to drag silly tabloid stores into it.

I'm not too fussed about this thread, I don't mind bits of presenter talk - but I find it really bizarre when we sit here mulling over Tim Willcox doing 6 hour shifts, then discussing how we love him for doing that, and then bringing some story about his private life into it. It's creepy at best.

On the other hand I don't like it when every post on the thread is slammed. I think those who post in it, and those who hate it can be as bad as each other!

Did I say at any point in that post that the thread is pointless? Did I at any point in that post complain about this thread? Please don't throw around false accusations when I was merely posting the rules for those who may not be able to see them, or haven't spotted them, and as a reminder for those who choose to ignore them.

I at no point 'accused' you of anything, I understand you have not personally complained about this thread. That was not aimed at you, but given some of the comments lately I felt (as I am sure you did when taking it upon yourself to post the rules) it necessary to point out the other aspect of the rules that Asa mentioned previously.

I do, however, stand by my reasoning that it is the moderators who decide what is acceptable and it is up to them to enforce this, it should not fall upon individual members to try and enforce the rules.

PS I'm fully aware of the painful irony that I am writing against clogging up threads with debate about what is/isn't acceptable whilst making my views known by precisely this medium. I was not prepared to ignore being falsely accused of wrongly accusing someone of something.

Not sure this is the right thread for this, but... Sue Thearle on BBC News and Adnan Nawaz on BBC World News.

Their sport affiliations had passed me by when I posted that, probably because they have been presenting regular news for so long its more unusual to see them presenting the sport. Technically since neither Nawaz or Thearle moved to Salford they arent 'Sport' at all any more.

I'm sensing you saw through my faining of interest in these trivialities... in a roundabout way, i guess i was trying to underline the thread creep.

And so, this New Year we had Mike Embley from midnight, but not sure who led into midnight?

Carrie Gracie is presenting the first shift this morning, it's always great to see her solo because she gets more of a chance to show her skills.
