Matthew Amroliwala and Emily Maitlis currently presenting on NC. Emily seems to be presenting the 11am shift much more recently. Maybe a hint to a reshuffle with Emily picking up the 11am shift?
Also, I was surprised that they chose Matthew rather than Emily for BBC One news since Emily is considered the 'more senior' presenter.

hmmmm doubt it - I think it's more likely that Jane is on holiday and Emily is being used as cover. Remember she doesn't have newsnight to present either so is likely to have more availability.

Matthew Amroliwala has done the BBC Weekend News on and off for many years. Certainly at least as far back as 2000/2001. In the 1990s he was also a correspondent for BBC News (before News 24 existed), so I think plenty of people will be familiar with him. Emily Maitlis was still on local news back then!

But in terms of current profile, Emily Maitlis is more senior because she appears on Newsnight and occasionally on the One, Six and Ten bulletins. She is also on the rota as a regular weekend bulletin presenter. Surely that makes her more senior at the moment?
