Good to see Martine Croxall doing the BBC1 teatime news as part of her News Channel shift.

Bit surprised to see her on there, presumably a separate presenter will be in for the late night bulletin, rather than using the evening NC presenter?

Martine tweeted that the scheduled presenter of the bulletins is ill, so both her and Sophie are stand-ins.

Not on the bulletins - Annita and Clive take it turn about for the weekends but I think Annita tends to do more of the weekends as Clive is used for cover slots on the NC during the week a lot more. It's normally Kate every second weekend and then another NC presenter for the other weekend.

Kate didn't present last weekend so would have been her turn but is perhaps ill this week

Could even be her kid? Im no parent but would you present a tv slot knowing that the Daily Mail would have a field day?

This is ridiculous.

Not only are some of you going to great lengths to discuss how interesting it is that Kate Silverton didn't present the weekend news last week, and so should have tonight, but hasn't, we're talking about how her children might be ill, and how this could be the reason she's not presenting it tonight. Why must you look so closely into people's private lives?

Someone laminate this and stick it on the wall.

Indeed. On Neon there's a popup giving some notes on rota posts. For those not on it, probably worth reiterating here:

Stick to the facts - focus on what is actually happening
Positive and negative opinions should be constructive
Posts should not be invasive of an individual's personal circumstances
No fantasy rotas/schedules

Speculative posts like the ones above are in poor taste and exactly the reason why some people don't like rota discussion.
