Sian Lloyd - haven't seen much from her in the past across BBC News, so quite a big gig for her to be on Breakfast.
I suspected Roger would be involved, given that he's a relief presenter on the programme and is obviously based in the North West too.
No surprises either that Susanna doesn't appear given that she's based in London and has children to look after over Christmas. Not much sign of Bill given that he lives in the North West. Does anyone know Charlie Stayt's travel arrangements, just for curiosity? Does he commute from London?
For rota geeks, this is certainly more exciting than last Christmas. Another appearance on the sofa for Steph - I think she was very good last time with Roger so I think with Jon she'll be fine again.
Does Bill live in the North West? I thought he was still in Buckinghamshire? No Naga this year.
Good to see Steph back on again - I think she'll be better with Jon though. Shame we're not seeing Jenny Hill.

Well according to his interview in the Mirror him, his wife and the dogs have moved up to a house in Chesire but they go down to their old house in Buckinghamshire for a weekend every 3 or 4 weeks.
Bill is about to start work as main presenter of Songs of Praise which is also produced in Salford.

Yeah, apparently not being moved up until the new year

This is unusual for a Sunday - Gavin Grey, who has been on the News Channel since 4pm to do the second half of what is usually Maxine's shift, is staying on to do the 7pm hour, when normally somebody else would take over until midnight.

What is the record for a News Channel shift by the way?
Recently? Probably would be the 9 hour shift Gavin Grey done in the July 2011 strike (6-3)
What about the long shift that Adam Parsons did during the Battle for Tripoli in August 2011? He went on air at 7pm and ended up staying on til at least 4am IIRC.
Not that he's on telly that much these days, but Justin Webb is off [i:0804201726]Today[/i:0804201726] (but doing well) following a recent coronary angioplasty.

For a rota perspective Today is very interesting. They broadcast 6 days a week, 2 presenters a day and have 5 presenters. It is exceptionally rare to get anyone other than the 5 presenting, and only tends to happen in the depths of summer when they are trying out a new person. If they are down to four over Christmas it will be interesting to see if someone else gets to present the programme - and who they choose ... any choice would receive speculation as being a future successor to Humpreys no doubt.
