When was the last time Chris Eakin did a day shift?

During the Olympics, he was at Weymouth doing reporting.

I was more on about double heading from the studio, but thanks for that reminder.

Wasn't it last summer when the News of the World closed? Clive Myrie was sent to report from International News HQ at the last minute, and Eakin was brought forward to present the 7pm shift with Carole Walker?

Yes, I recall this... Its strange they don't put Chris Eakin on with another presenter more often. He seems to up his game and outshines his co-presenter.

Incredible guest presenter on BBC News this morning. This is surely a first.

We've managed to persuade Mrs. Croxall to spend some time in N8 on Sunday morning. The red carpet is now being laid as we speak.

She's doing a double shift on the News Channel this morning - alongside Simon McCoy for the 8:30 shift, and now alongside Tim at 11am, with Matthew Amroliwala in Manchester and Ben Brown in Ashkelon.

Interesting to see Sian doing the 10 tonight even though Fiona did the 6 earlier!

I'm guessing Fiona's busy with Children In Need.

Fiona appeared with Sophie and Bill at around 10:45, would have probably been too fast a turnaround for her to do the Ten as well.

How much of a walk from N6 to Tc 1 then?

Mind you didnt Michael Burk read the one Ten on CIN night in stockings as he was doing the Time Warp the one year with the rest of the newsreaders (& weather staff?)?

Sure I saw a behind the scenes at a later date.

Michael Buerk read the BBC News at Ten wearing stockings and suspenders behind the desk?

You're having a laff, surely.

This is the BBC!
