Adam Parsons presenting the evening shift on the News Channel - it's been a while. Only times I've seen him over the last few months is either doing the business news or reporting during the Olympics!

Anyone know what's happened to Rachel Schofield? She hasn't been on the NC for 2 months now, with Martine Croxall or Sue Thearle covering her Monday morning shift.

Emily & Jon presenting and soon to be joined by Gangam Style dancer. Surely must see TV. Cool

I watched Emily and Jon last Monday and felt their banter was too contrived. I felt that Emily worked better with Ben Brown, Tues to Thurs last week!

Wow! Look at me!!!! BBC News Channel aficionado, all of a sudden.

On another point, I've noticed that Emily perpetually touches her face, fixes her hair, scratches her nose and chin and generally puts a Bic Biro in her mouth every eleven seconds when she's reading the news. It's awfully distracting.

Gangam Style dancer? What's that?

^ Gangam Style is this new song that has a trademark dance move, like the new Macarena.

Anyway, Jon & Emily did not perform it, how disappointing they are actually staying strictly professional this time around. Laughing

Aha! That's the Korean dance that Rico Hizon did last night, right?

And, how does it feel to be a lawyer????

Julia Somerville on the 11:00 shift with Matthew this morning. It's been a few months since she last did a News Channel shift!

Tim Willcox reporting from Wales.

Gavin Grey is a great presenter, but I wish after the sting on the :30 he would say 'Good evening, welcome back to BBC News with me Gavin Grey' or something like that, rather than just straight into 'The headlines this hour'. The same goes with the TOTH after the sting, he goes straight into the first story without a welcome. It just doesn't sound 'right'.

Martine Croxall today tweeted that Rachel Schofield has 'left but may freelance', in response to one of her regular followers asking where Schofield has disappeared to. Croxall also said that she's enjoying the early shifts with Simon McCoy on Mondays and Fridays - might this become permanent, especially with Carrie Gracie now only doing three days a week instead of four?

Rachel leaving is an interesting development - wasn't really expecting that as nothing has been said on air or otherwise, although I suppose it's not on the same scale as someone like Moira Stuart leaving the BBC. Whilst competent and good at handling things, she wasn't really the most exciting presenter or anything majorly special on the news channel.

I suspect Martine will now become the Monday morning presenter with Simon permanently, which is great as they make a good on-air partnership. And with Carrie now only doing three days, I'm guessing Martine will also do every Tuesday now, as has been the case over the last few months.

Also, now that they're one presenter down, I'm guessing we'll be seeing a sharp increase in single headed presentation on the NC?
