Long day for Carole Walker - after presenting the 1-4pm shift earlier on the News Channel, she's now just appeared live on the late bulletin in the studio as political correspondent.

Very sad news following his battle with cancer, he was an excellent journalist.
Fellow Education reporter at both the BBC and the Guardian, Sue Littlemore, has written an obituary http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2012/sep/22/mike-baker-obituary-guardian-times

Yes I have to agree. I really enjoyed waking up to her today. Her bright, smiley appearance is exactly what is needed for Breakfast. Love to see her again.
Jenny's a natural on the sofa!

Absolutely! She's presented regional news before on Look North, but never Breakfast. And for a first time, it never showed at all. She was so professional and looked as though she has presented the programme many times before. Jenny looked as though she was really enjoying the programme too - no nerves or stress. Jon said at the end that we'd see her again, so she might have impressed bosses early on this morning for her to return to the programme. Sooner than later, I hope!
Definitely like to see her again on Breakfast. She was very enjoyable to watch. She read the news effortlessly on Andrew Marr too. Here she is on the Marr Show:

Apparently she freelances between reporting/producing for BBC World and Australia's Ten News (reporting from London).

Matthew Amroliwala presenting the Five today.
And a very unusual pairing at 7pm - Sue Thearle and Kasia Madera, with Sue taking the 'lead' role.

Matthew Amroliwala seems to be all over the place this week, presenting 2pm with Martine Croxall today. Was it Ben Brown & Annita McVeigh on 11am again today? Bit weird all the presenters seem to be doing swapsies this week!

Ben Brown and Emily Maitlis.
